Through the snowy landscape

Lechtal is a wonderful winter hiking region in Tirol:

9 mountain pastures and huts in Lechtal are open during the winter season. Hike to one of them for a cosy mountain-hut stop; the walking time is approx. 45 minutes to 2.5 hours each way from the respective starting point. A favourite tip is, of course, our idyllically situated Postalm in the rustic Bockbachtal. 2x/week, we offer a torchlit hike with fondue at the Postalm.
Combine your winter hike with a toboggan ride, for example on the toboggan run in Steeg or from Gibler Alm near Elbigenalp. You can hire toboggans at the hotel.
Enjoy tours on a total of around 130 kilometres of designated winter hiking trails
From Steeg, you can also enjoy winter hikes in neighbouring Vorarlberg and experience the magic of winter at Arlberg

Tips for snowshoeing

Making your way through deep snow can be arduous - snowshoes make it a little easier, as you sink less. We hire out snowshoes at the hotel.

One of the many snowshoeing options in the Lechtal: starting from the valley station in Bach, walk alongside the piste in around 2.5 hours up to the Sonnalm Jöchelspitze mountain inn at an altitude of 1,800 metres.
Guided snowshoe hikes are available in the Lechtal.
Ask at reception; we can also arrange mountain guides for guided winter tours in the Lechtal.
