It is a passion because the experience of nature in one's own hunting grounds feels special. Both Norbert and Florian Obwegeser have hunting licenses and are active hunters. The family has leased a hunting ground where father and son regularly check on things.
In this respect, harmony with nature goes hand in hand with responsible intervention as a hunter. The Post receives the outcome of the hunt. With this, the kitchen team creates classic as well as creative game dishes for the Post guests, some of whom come to Steeg especially for this.

Venison, chamois, and the majority of the deer meat come from our own hunting grounds in Warth.

Mindfulness in our hunting grounds
On walks through the area, hunters get an overview of the territory: age structures of the animals, the gender balance of an animal species, and the balance of the animals in general. Considering the habitat and the symbiosis with agriculture and forestry, it is necessary to regulate the animal population mindfully. But also environmental protection and nature conservation are among the tasks of hunters.
