Tips for a winter hike
The Lechtal is a wonderful winter hiking region in Tyrol:
- 9 alpine pastures and cabins in the Lech Valley are open during the winter season. Hike there for a cozy cabin stop, walking time is about 45 minutes to 2.5 hours each way from the respective starting point. A favorite tip is, of course, our picturesquely located Postalm in the rustic Bockbachtal. 2x/week we offer a torchlight hike with fondue at the Postalm.
- Combine winter hiking with a toboggan run, e.g. at the toboggan run in Steeg or from the Gibler Alm near Elbigenalp. You can rent toboggans at the hotel.
- Take tours on a total of about 130 kilometers of marked winter hiking trails.
- From Steeg, you can also take winter hikes in the directly bordering Vorarlberg and feel the winter magic at the Arlberg Mountain.
Tips for snowshoeing
In the high snow, it can be tedious to move forward - it is a little easier with snowshoes because you don't sink in as far. . We rent snowshoes at the hotel.
- One of the many possibilities for snowshoeing in the Lech Valley: Walk with snowshoes from the valley station in Bach next to the ski slope in about 2.5 hours up to the Sonnalm Jöchelspitze mountain restaurant at 1,800 meters above sea level.
- Guided snowshoe hikes are offered in the Lechtal.
- Ask at our reception. We can also arrange mountain guides for guided winter tours in the Lech Valley.
- If you are going on tours off the beaten path on your own, please enquire about any avalanche hazards.
